Refuge - Cora
Cora came to Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue in 2011 at the age of 11 years after being picked up as a stray in the panhandle of Florida. She was a mess with one of the worst cases of untreated dry eye we had ever seen. Cora is a sweet girl but extremely timid, preferring the company of her foster siblings to that of her foster parent. She also is very intimidated to the point of terrified of being outside and so does not ever go outside, instead staying in a special room where she feels safe with other emotionally damaged foster siblings. As a result of these behavior issues, she has remained in our Refuge program for emotionally damaged dogs who will likely never be considered adoptable.
Cora’s severe dry eye has been brought under control, but it requires a costly medication that she takes multiple times a day and goes through a tube of every week and half. As a result, her monthly expenses, in addition to daily food and treats, are considerable -
Dry eye ointment – $150
Heartworm/Flea preventative – $20
Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue is completely dependent upon donations for the care of the dogs who reside at Polo’s Refuge. Interested in sponsoring all or a portion of Cora’s monthly care? Click below to set up a monthly recurring donation!
