Refuge – Elijah

ElijahElijah came to Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue in 2010 after spending 10 years in a puppy mill. This poor sweet boy came to us severely emotionally damaged and while he has made considerable progress in his interactions with CSTR volunteers, he is far from considered adoptable.  Eli is still learning to accept touch from his foster mom, but he is terrified of being outside and so stays in a special room where he feels safe with other emotionally damaged foster siblings.  He will live out his life with love and care in CSTR’s Refuge program.

Elijah is relatively healthy, his only issue currently being dry eye which he takes daily medication for.  His monthly expenses, in addition to daily food and treats, are as follows –

Dry eye medication – $15
Heartworm/Flea preventative – $20

Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue is completely dependent upon donations for the care of the dogs who reside at Polo’s Refuge.  Interested in sponsoring all or a portion of Elijah’s monthly care?  Click below to set up a monthly recurring donation!
