Refuge – Noah

NoahNoah is currently our most special case in the Refuge program.  He was saved from a puppy mill auction in June 2014 at the age of 7 years and resides in the special Refuge room of the main CSTR foster home.  Noah is quite fearful and so does not want to be touched, making it necessary to “catch” him when he needs to be groomed, etc.  As a result, though, it is impossible for him to be outside for fear we would never be able to get him back in!  He has made slow progress since coming to CSTR, spending more and more time out in the room, rather than under the futon, and his most favorite time of the day is mealtime.  He’s beginning to let his foster mom scratch his head occasionally, but more often he is content to dart up and lick her fingers before darting away.

Noah has a home with CSTR for his lifetime as it is unlikely he will ever be able to adjust to another home and unfamiliar routine, and his foster mom will continue to work with him daily to help him become accustomed to human touch so that grooming and vet visits aren’t so stressful.  He’s a healthy guy so far, so his monthly expenses, in addition to food and treats, are –

Heartworm/Flea preventative – $20
